With your path. Pick one of nine — creator, freelancer, coach or consultant, local service, shop, online store, physical product, software, or still figuring it out — and it decides which ten rungs you climb and which quests show up on your board. From there, take on a quest, or name a 7-day sprint and start adding your own tasks to it. NoBossly does not hand you a business idea to pick from; the direction is always your call.

A path is the kind of way out you are building: content creator, freelancer, coach or consultant, local service, brick and mortar, online store, physical product, software, or still figuring it out. It decides which quests you are offered and what the ten rungs of your ladder are called. You can change it whenever you like from Choose your path — XP and levels you have already earned stay with you.

Because the rungs are named for the work. A plumber climbs Odd Jobber → Kitted Out → Signwritten → Quoting; a creator climbs Lurker → Poster → Publisher → Regular. Underneath they are the same ten stages, worth exactly the same XP, and no rung on any path can be bought with points — every one gates on something that happened in the real world. Where a gate would be meaningless for your path (a creator does not need to register a company to take a sponsorship) that path gets an equivalent of the same weight, never a free rung.

Quests are the shared quest board — timed pushes (30/60/90-day) that fit your current level. Electives are matched to your path and business more specifically. Accept one from Quests and it pins to your dashboard until you finish or abandon it.

A sprint is a 7-day push toward one thing you name yourself, with your own tasks on it. Start one from your dashboard, add tasks as you think of them, and check them off as you go — your velocity tracks what percentage got done by the end of the week.

Other members. The peer-review queue pairs you with people on the same ladder — post what you're working on and get honest answers; give three reviews of your own and it clears a quest.

Follow anyone from their profile or the member directory and their real achievements show up in your feed — clearing a quest, reaching a rung, posting a win. Only real achievements: nothing lands there for logging in or posting in the forum, because a feed you learn to scroll past is worth nothing. Each rung is named for that person’s own path, so you will see “reached Level 5 — First Invoice” from a plumber and “Level 5 — Paid Creator” from someone making videos. Blocking someone removes you from each other’s feeds in both directions.

Yes — every path, every quest, every sprint, the full ladder, peer review, groups and collaborations are free, with no card needed. Nothing you need to climb is ever paid.

An optional add-on with five planning tools: a Quit-Date Planner, Tax Set-Aside, Pricing & Margin Calculator, a public Proof Page and a Customer Interview Tracker. It is $5 a month, $48 a year, or $200 once for lifetime access. See Premium.

From Account settings. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for, and your free account carries on as normal. Your saved tool data is kept in case you come back.

Both can be updated in Account settings. Email changes require confirming a link sent to both your old and new address.

Public profiles show your full profile to everyone. Private profiles only reveal your username, level, awards and badges. Toggle this in Account settings.

In Account settings: deactivating hides your profile and signs you out — logging back in reactivates it. Deleting schedules permanent removal after a 7-day grace period, during which you can cancel by logging back in.

The Community forum is open to everyone — most people there are doing this around a job, same as you. Browse Members to see profiles, and message them directly.

Any member can create a project from Collaborations and invite others by username. Teammates can be assigned tasks on your board.

Quests are timed pushes (30/60/90-day) you take on and pin to your dashboard. Trophies are what you have already done: most unlock themselves as you play, and the real-world ones — "registered my business" — you log yourself. Both award XP, and both can gate the next rung of your ladder.
